Wei Wuxian knows two things with absolute certainty in this lifetime:
Lan Zhan is perfect.
He, Wei Ying, is very much not.
It’s absurdly unfair, really. Some people are born with wisdom and elegance and beauty carved into their bones. Some people emerge from the womb with the demeanor of a sage, the face of an immortal, and a personality so coldly aloof that one look from them can silence an entire courtyard.
And then there’s Wei Ying.
Who talks too much, laughs too loudly, and has an uncanny ability to attract trouble the way honey attracts bees.
So, yes. Wei Wuxian knows he’s in love with Lan Wangji. That much is painfully, embarrassingly obvious. He’s known it since that early morning in the Cloud Recesses when Lan Zhan caught him sneaking alcohol and didn’t immediately hit him over the head with a guqin. Or maybe since the rooftop when they first fought side by side.
